Oswestry Sports Forum hosts Forum Evenings on topics which are of interest across several sports.
Sports injuries - Prevention and Treatment
A Forum Evening on Sports Injuries was held on Friday, 17th September 2010. Two experts in their field discussed the treatment and prevention of sports injuries:
Robert Booth, physiotherapist, demonstrated developmental risks for young people, using an adult and a junior member of the audience. He recommended the Power Position as an effective tool to spot and correct knee alignment weaknesses in Juniors before they became a long-term injury.
Adam Hughes, podiatrist, demonstrated gait analysis on a volunteer and discussed the recent changes in orthotics design and materials.
The winner of the 3km Handicap Fun Run, held before the presentations, was Karen Stringer who finished just 8 seconds faster than her predicted time.
The evening was well attended by representatives across about 10 different sports. If you would like more information, please contact Robert Booth (01743 741544) or Adam Hughes (07817 353232).
